The Evolution of a Collaboration Architect

Paul Nunesdea, PhD, CPF • February 7, 2024

Discovering the Roundtable Principles

In the ever-changing landscape of professional and personal growth, my journey stands as a testament to the transformative power of collaboration. My experiences, stretching across various managerial roles in sectors like manufacturing, education, healthcare, and technology, have culminated in a profound appreciation for collective wisdom and the art of facilitation. These roles not only honed my ability to lead and innovate but also paved the way for my evolution into a collaboration architect.

The transition from management to facilitation was marked by a deep dive into the dynamics of group discussions, where I learned the importance of creating spaces for dialogue. This period of transformation was enriched by my personal life, especially fatherhood, which introduced a new dimension of collaboration, teaching me lessons in empathy, patience, and understanding.

My passion for fostering effective collaboration has been further explored through writing. I've authored several books that delve into the nuances of facilitation and collaborative leadership, offering insights and practical strategies to enhance teamwork and decision-making processes.

The culmination of these experiences led to the birth of the "Roundtable Principles," a set of guidelines forged from years of practice and reflection. These principles advocate for inclusivity, active participation, respectful dialogue, data-driven decision-making, and continuous learning, among others, to nurture collaboration across all spheres of life.

As a collaboration architect, I invite you on a journey of discovery and growth. Through my work, including the 'Talk to Your Meeting Doctors' LinkedIn live series and upcoming training events, I aim to share the wisdom and strategies that have shaped my approach to effective collaboration.

For a deeper dive into my journey and the comprehensive exploration of the Roundtable Principles, I encourage you to read the full article on LinkedIn Pulse. Join me in embracing the transformative power of collaboration for a brighter, more connected future.

In this article, we explore insights from Ruud Janssen, founder of the Event Design Collective, on how meetings and events can be transformed through intentional design. By distinguishing between event management and event design, Ruud highlights the importance of crafting experiences that create measurable value over time. Using tools like the Event Canvas and empathy mapping, organizations can align diverse stakeholder perspectives to foster behavioral change and cultural transformation.
